WHAT TO PLANT BETWEEN CLIMBING FRENCH BEANS?

Hiya all,

Someone said to me you can plant something between french bean canes...was it marrows??

Squash of any description under sweetcorn and French beans... called the three sisters...  :)

If your beans are too far apart why not try to get the spacing right?

Most years (as long as it's warmer than last summer!) squash works really well under climbing beans, and increases the crop you can get off that piece of ground.

I agree Sqaush between rows of beans work well (3 sisters if you plant corn too). I think the idea is to utilize space well and planting squash between the rows of beans supresses weeds. You need to have the beans spaced apart in order to be able to pick them!
