i have sowed some tomatoes in cells in a seed tray then potted them into 3" pots but i have been watering them from above? is this not a good idea?

It's fine at this stage Mike, it's only a problem when blight spores are in the air..
usually August/September..   :)

Bump... hadn't realised the propagator had stopped working in store.. fixed it now should see first signs of life today/tomorrow...  :)

We have lift off... Super Marmande, Sungold and Silvery fir tree... with another dozen tomorrow morning...  ;D
