What would you do?

Dilema.......
Been on waiting list for nearest allotments for 4 years. Told at time of application that the land use was for smallholdings, not for allotments.  In meantime another allotment site 3 miles away advertised for tenents.  Took said allotment 3 miles away and have spent 18 months getting it up to scratch.  It has been cleared of rubbish, dug by hand top to bottom and now has raised beds and permanent crops such as asparagus and fruit bushes\trees planted on it.
Have now been offered plot at nearest allotment site which is virtually at bottom of the street.
The new site has no other tenents - the other sites are used for storage. No water. No allotment association.  Is quite noisy being near a main road.
What would you do?   Give up the site you've worked so hard on in favour of location or stick with what you've got?
Options much appreciated  :(

Take on the near one, and keep the old one for now... if things go well at the local site you can give the other one up later, if two is too much. Don't give up your "good" plot yet.  :)

i agree with saddad, work the one you have this season while slowly preparing the new one and as he said if it works out then at the end of the season give up the old one moving your beds etc on to the new one.

good luck with either decision you make.

Agreed.  Even if it takes a couple of years running the two, your long term plans can be to move to the closer plot.  You can't up sticks in five minutes.

Good luck with the plots!  :) :) :)

As above, you could still be over the allotment in 20years so worth taking the one closest.

Don't tell anyone that you have another plot...It might not pay to let on :-X
