Hi all, :D
I have several variagated pelagonium cuttings overwintering nicely in my conservatory. They have grown a bit tall, about 20 cms, should I prune out the tops to encourage them to bush out? or wait until they will be going outside?

Hi Adrian,

Do you mean what was once called geraniums or plants such as regals & angels?

I ask because I don't grow the latter two outdoors, I only use  'geraniums' outdoors.

There is some info here that may help you; http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Data/Pelargonium/Pelargoniums.htm

Not sure what the correct answer is but I nipped the new growth off a couple of mine the other day as they were getting a bit leggy, I think and hope they are fairly resilient!

My pelargoniums are on cool windowsills, and are putting on growth now.

I am going to delay pruning for a few weeks, and will then use the prunings as cuttings for new plants
