Well i've got my wasabi plants home and soaking in the sink, has anyone ever grown enough to eat from these plants?

I've read that they are semi aquatic, in which case could i place some of these plants onto the shelf of my pond?

Based on that information only, I would be tempted to grow them in suitable sized pots and sit them on the top shelf of a pond or in a water container. As they seem similar to horseradish they may also grow well direct in the soil if kept well watered. A lot of mays but if you get a result I would be interested in a piece.

They are grown commercially in gravel beds of running water, so would benefit from being near running water from the pump.

I was going to have a go growing these in my pond, but couldn't source any from the uk.
You can get them from America, but they cost about £150 for 6 plants.

Where did you get them from?

Plants are available in the UK from Poyntzfield Herb Nursery they are £4.20 each there is a minimum order of £10 but the postage charges are a bit steep.

Got them from Hampshire potato day 3 ryzomes for £4.50.

Going to keep them in a wet tray until the outside temp goes above 7-8oC then plants them out into the pond. Will keep you updated.
