Just bought a Blackcurrant root from Morrisons. If i plant out now will it survive the frosts?

Its not the future frost that might be the problem its the ones that have just passed that might be.

That is your ground might be very cold, frozen even which is not conducive to giving your plant/s a good start.

What I would do is dig a hole deeper than required and throw in some fairly fresh steaming manure in the bottom of it.

Cover this with a layer of new compost to keep the roots off the fresh compost.

Then plant you shrub to the depth it was in the container backfill the hole with compost and/or soil. If it was a bare rooted plant you should be able to see how deep it was planted before so plant it at this depth.

The manure in the bottom will give off heat as it decomposes thus warming up the soil at root level.
