I think there might be one called Electric for this time of year!

I planted Electric last week. Dont know what they are like though - first time I've tried them.

I have grown electric every year as a overwintering red onion. Thye are fine - I start using them in late April onwards as they start ot bulb as they don't store very well.

Hi straush,  :D
electric red are definitely what you want, but get them in ASAP, they need to get root & top growth going before the colder weather sets in. Try & find heat treated sets, these don`t bolt as easily as the ordinary one`s.I have still got a couple left from the one`s I planted last year, people say they do not keep, but mine have been lifted since the end of June & have been fine.

hi straush
I've just bought some Electric bulbs on ebay. I don't know if they're heat-treated or not, but I think I may have over-ordered :-[ so if you can't find any give me a shout and I can post you some.

I've just checked my store of Electric, lifted in June, and they're fine. Mind you, I don't have the space to grow massive amounts to last me a season, but so far....they're fine 8)

I looked last week for some more in the local shops but none were on the shelves :'( - hope I can find some pretty quickly - they're well-worth planting & free the space in the garden plottie just when I need it.

thank you

now for hoping i am not too late ....   :-[

Just make sure Straush that the ones you plant are wintering or Japanese onions the others you have are main crop which are planted in early spring, good luck.  ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.
