I saw my friend down the lottie with this spade, it was his fathers, he had inheriteded it from old boy down the lottie. So it was pretty old.  I had a go and it makes digging so easy, whcih is what i need right now. I was told that they stopped making them but i found a site that makes them now so if anyone is interested......

It's worth having a look on ebay for them too they come up fairly regularly & you could save yourself quite a bit.
Here are 2 currently being auctioned.

And the good bit is that all the new parts fit your original antique model too!

I would like one of them auto spades, the type that auto dig the garden by itself.

The old auto spade was made by Wolfe and i still have mine and i also have the fork attachment as well i picked up mine when i was down at my sisters in Boston England for £5 at a boot sale it is one of the best buys i ever had

There are about five people on our allotment in Dundee who have them i lend mine out to some of the other members who are getting on in years or do there allotment for them,

A ten pole plot only takes about an hour once you get used to using this type of spade.
