Hi, I think this was pushed in another thread that Molly the half grown kitty had been  spayed a couple of weeks ago. She was picked up by us with her brother earier in the year froma disgusting situation. We decided  to keep them till healthy and fixed  with shots etc then find them good homes

Rupert was neutered and Molly spayed on the same day, Rupert is fine. Molly seemed to be for a few days then stsrted to go off.

Started with lethargy and a temp of 40c, trip to vets at night , was told it was not the surgery as it started too late??

Several days later after daily vet visits , daily shots and many expenisve tests they still couldn't bring the temp down and admitted her to go on a drip, very weak by this time.

I found out that here is no one on duty over night and refused to leave her after hours, she came home  that night, very weak with the same temp.

By this time we were expecting to lose her but figured if she was going to go it was not going to be in a cage in a an empty building.

Then I remember my Mum telling me waht they did to babies before antibitoics were here so we did that.

John and I have have fed her via syringe every two hours, with pureed food, baby  jars and kitty milk all through the night, and also given her electrolyte solution to the correct amount for her weight to prevent her getting dehydrated. Following Mums old advice  we have also placed her in  cool damp towels every two hours then dried her off. She had been on my bed for three days, on the pillow, so if she so much as moved I heard her.

Two days ago we placed her in God's hands.

Today we have had a  definate breakthrough, her temp has dropped to  almost  in the normal range and she seems to be a wee bit stronger, she is still very ill but we can see a difference today

For the first time in 10 days we feel a wee bit hopeful. It is early days yet though. We need matchsticks to keep our eyes open!! Maybe it was fate that I got a chest infection and Dr put me on sick for 2 weeks.

and no blood results from the vet yet, they were sent to Glasgow?

Blunty, if she will or will not survive is, as you say, J, in God's hands.....(who-ever your God may be...) you, and the Vets have done evrything that can be done....there's a natural culling going on, all over, and she may be one that is culled (or called??)

You've done whatever could have  been done.....time to wait.....

Jeannine, whatever happens at least you know you have done everything you possibly can and Molly has had so much love and care from you, she is so lucky.  There is nothing more you can do but hope now as I am sure we all do.  I shall be thinking of you all.
