oh well it will be worth it when i stuff my face with the apple.

anyway finger has hurt all day at work then i get home and my neighbour opposite bless him and love him has given us a carrier bag full of cooking apples  :o  :o  :o  :o
guess the finger is gonna hurt a little longer  :'(

Debster,  I have had one of these for years.  It makes a bit of a mess and wastes a bit but for serious apple stewing and freezing it is worth it.  We have 6 huge old apple trees and it makes the job much easier.

Lakeland usually sell them but can't find it on their website.

Hope your finger feels better soon.

Really hope the finger doesn't get too painful.

Cor! he's lucky. I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

I've got one of those machines too, though it was cheaper. Each apple done in seconds and I make jelly or apple juice from the peelings so nothing is wasted. Or add blackberries and make blackberry/apple jelly.

The apples do need to be a good shape, though, not too bulgy on one side and not too large. Most of my apples are the right shape and size, so I do them on the machine and the others by hand.

Just about to get it out for this year.....

For most things, I don't bother to peel the apples.  The peel is meant to be good for you anyway.

Artichoke, I am sure my machine was only about £15 too, but Lakeland don't appear to have any this year.  Maybe somewhere else will have them cheaper Debster, it was more for the photo than anything else that I posted the link as I do not know the company.

I should have said that in my post as I was not recommending them. :-[

PS Just found quite a selection:
