Thanks very much for the help.....no idea why the pic didn't upload....!!! How DO you upload properly?

Any ideas about m Silkie would be appreciated......perhaps I should breed from her?! :-)

No problem, I think you may be best asking about the hen's colouring on a Poultry Forum.

I'm a member of the Poultry Keeper Group and they have a area for Silkie Chat so would advice asking on there...

Hope i'm allowed to put this link in... ;)

Not seen one with her colouring before, so as long as it's not health related I don't see any harm in hatching a few chicks out to see if the colouration is past down..

All the best,

How strange, I have had white silkies now I have gold all blue/black skin. Even hatched a pullet gold silkie x cream legbar and she has the dark skin.
Either a throw back to x breeding in the genes or a problem with the pigment of the skin. If she is healthy dont worry.

try this link and ask them the question

let us know what they say.

Thanks all.....I've joined the Poultry Keepers Forums and contacted the Silkie Club of Great Britain.....

Watch this space.......!

*Fingers crossed for yellow skinned Silkies!!!!!*
