Chicken poo and straw on compost heap

Hi, can anyone tell me about chicken poo on the compost heap, do I have to sort out the poo from the straw or do I put it all together ?

No just mix it in, you need to leave it to break down for at least 9 months. Set a heap going and just give it an occasional stir without adding any more poo to it.

I have put a bit in my compost heap and some seperate at the back of the garden, but there seems to such a lot of it, I supose not poo but lots of straw got any what do you all do with the extra

I put all mine in compost heap woodshavings/straw and a  few leaves of comphrey inbetween and kitchen waste teabags etc what the hens dont eat water well and covered with plastic it all rots down a treat.

Yes it makes cracking compost. Can you compost Rabbit poo?

SIL has rabbits all poo is great all animals manure  ;D

hi my friend has ducks is their poo ok for composting -  joie

Duck is fine, if they offer the bedding take that as well other wise layer it with newspaper or shedded paper in layers.
