Hello again everyone, now back home from the holidays and back to work tomorrow.

We stayed in the village called Eype in west Dorset.Great little village, very pretty and a great pub called the New Inn.A great Landlord and many happy evenings spent there. The pub is dog friendly

The village is close to the beach.Wonderful scenery all around and some wonderful walks.

We stayed in a bungalow that is dog friendly,in fact all the bungalows are dog friendly. The place is called golden acres. The place is ideal for people who like to take their dogs on holiday with them.

Downside to the holiday, the accommodation is very small and furnished in a very drab old fashioned way.The two bedroom are much better.
We had booked for two weeks but moved on after ten days as I did not want to stay in that drab little place any longer. That is my opinion, other people did not mind it but I did.

Eype is accessed by single track roads and the driving can be difficult.

Finished our holiday at our caravan and had a very sociable time with visiting friends.Has some pretty good weather.

Could not wait to get to the lottie and lots of mega weeds awaiting.

Missed A4A and great to read all the posts. :)

The annoying thing is Lish this place was not cheap. However Dorset is a great fave of mine so not all bad.

The other annoying thing is I was booked all day today and the rain has been
chucking it down so rain stopped play.Moan Moan winge winge :(

Flower, what a lovely thing to say,I would not inflict my menangerie on you but lovely offer.

Hyacinth

.....rain stopped play...tell me about it >:( This N/S/E/W divide is truly extraordinary....one of my online (and RL) friends was positively ecstatic yesterday that she was having rain, having had nothing but the occasional shower since June ???

hey Bets!...."Flower,what a lovely thing to say,I would not inflict my menangerie on you but lovely offer.".....sure that Flower will have a little shed somewhere at the bottom of the garden for your OH  ;D

Hi betula - have stayed at Golden Acres a few times myself with OH and JR.  I thought it was a very nice place and its so nice that even the pubs are dog-friendly too.  I agree the accommodation is somewhat 1950's but how much time do you spend there?  We were either out and about or outside on the green chatting to others sharing tea/coffee.  However, we were only there for a week so maybe that had a bit to do with it.  I'm sorry it wasn't quite as good as you wished.  The walks along the tops of the cliffs was great too.

Twinkletoes,as I say not all bad, lovely area, but the bed was pushed against the wall and sharing a three quarter bed with my 6ft 2 husband was what can only be described as a challenge. The decor is 1950s but with 2008 prices.
I think the place does well as they accept dogs, without the dogs I think they would not get away with it.When I spoke to other people about it the conversation always finished with yes but you can bring the dogs.
I always want what I pay for,I do not like compromise.

Shabby chic is what it is called when you are with the 'in crowd'
