Bottle Brush plant and pruning

Can anyone tell me what to do with my bottle brush plant when it has finished flowering?  It is full of flowers but on one stem the flower has gone and if I cut down to below it I will be reducing the stem quite a bit as they have a nice new leaf bundle at the end of it.
