Noticed tonight that my gem squash are full of flowers this evening.

They have been out in the garden now for 3 weeks and seem ok.

Is it flowering far too early, do i need to remove these flowers?

Thanks.

No... but they are probably just males so far... Have a look for a swelling behind the petals for a "girlie" flower....

SBG you are doing really well. I have only just plucked up the nerve to get my squash out of the cold frame and planted - and then I have put extra large bottle cloches on them for protection.

Having said that I only potted them on two weeks ago and the roots had already made a bid for freedom out of the bottom of the pots.

Just been to look and there are.  The plants are only 2 foot high though.

Have you got both sorts? You need the girlies with the swelling and the blokes on stalks... if necessary take the male off, take off the petals and brush across the middle of some girlie flowers...
;D
