Just a quick one. I bought some seeds recently but they didnt come with any growing advise on. Have I missed the boat for planting some this year?

If I'm honest the reason for wanting to grow them is that our family usually have a party for the 'kids' at halloween and it's our turn this year so I thought growing one of these would make a brilliant centre piece, aswell as the pumpkin pies  :)

Maybe If I plant them now they will grow but wont get to full size right?

You should still be able to get them to a good size even sowing now.

There are some instructions here; http://tinyurl.com/27wzrz

I would suggest you forget about the timing on this link being as you are a bit late, but the methodology should still ring true.

If you want a really massive one, just leave one pumpkin on the plant.
Let it produce a couple or three, let them grow on and pick the best one to be left.
Put a concrete slab underneath to reduce slug damage from the bottom.

Thanks for the advice lads. I'll start them off in the next day or two.

I'd not thought of selecting the bigger one thats growing and remove the other pumkins.

Watch this space as I'll probably need to ask one or two more questions lol
