Good site Grannie :)

We are about to revamp a tiny pond I have on the allotment.

My husband went into poundland yesterday and got some lovely stepping stones with a flower on each one.This is a very cheap way of edging the pond.
It does depend on your taste of course but I am very pleased with them for a £1 EACH.

You can buy stepping stone moulds off Ebay and make your own for less.

I have a couple and have made stepping stones for just about everybody I know (and a few I dont)

You just buy the mould, mix up some cement, sand, fine gravel (ie =concrete), add some colour (a tin from Wicks), pour it in, let it set and tip it out.

Moulds cost anything from a couple of squids for a small one (say 9"x9") upwards. My big log one, 18" dia, cost a fiver, and has made about 40 stones so far. (£5-£10 each in the GC.)

We made some with the grandkids and stuck "decorative" things in the concrete- broken china, marbles, handprints etc.  Makes a happy path for grandparents.

Had some a couple of years ago and they disintegrated over the winter
When I get old I don't want people thinking

We have a path of sorts made from them which have lasted now 4 years. If you add too much water to concrete it weakens the concrete.
