We all eat healthily but my youngest grand daughter who is now twelve years old hates most vegetables (except cabbage). Yet she will eat all day and is very slim. Full of energy.

To make sure that she gets the balance of vegetables every day we end up blending cooked vegetables for things. So bolognaise sauce is tomatoes spinach carrots and onion.

Shepherds pie is mince with a gravy made from blended vegetables and a stock cube.

She will eat soup (without bits) so we blend the veg for that and give her a bowl before her main meal which is a meat dish and either rice,  pasta, potatoes or noodles. To make sure she gets vegetables.

She knows we do this and does try veg cooked in various ways every so often but unless we eat cabbage every day. It is hard to get her to eat other vegetables.

She eats fruit. No problem. Any one got any more recipes to include vegetables that do not seem like vegetables?

It is not the taste because she will have the soups it must be the texture.

We do exactly the same with our 4 year old.  Bolognaise and Chillies - she doesn't know.   We make loads and freeze the extras.   Then use it as a base for many meals.
