Smelly slimy compost.....

Question everyone!!

I've discovered an existing compost heap by a shed in my garden but not sure whether its ok to use.  It looks as if it consists mainly of rotted grass cuttings which have gone slimy and black.  I've searched and googled & found that it goes slimy due to lack of air and gives suggestions on how to compost grass cuttings properly - but what I would like to know is if the black slimy stuff is any good to use.

I cant plant anything this year as we're saving up to buy rabbit proof fencing so we are concentrating on clearing the garden and enriching the soil.  If we chucked the slime on the garden, will the worms come and sort it out?

thanks  ;D

I wold be tempted to mix it with some dry,Shredded paper, strips of newspaper.

Try to do it in layers. :)

Yes the worms would sort it out if you spread it around or you can start a new compost heap & incorporate it into that.
