In my front garden I planted Daffs all along the path, over 200.

With the winds and the rains, they are looking pretty bashed and pathetic at the moment :(

I have been told not to cut the foliage down, just the open flowers before they seed.

However, it will look a mess all away along the path up to the house, so any advice of what I can plant with them or inbetween the daffodils for an attractive display.

The bulbs are not that far apart.

Foliage needs to be left for fully six weeks after the flower's faded to guarantee flowers next year. The leaves also shouldn't be tied up in any way.
But you can plant things like violas, double daisies and forget-me-nots in the gaps to give you something pleasant to look at.

If you are going to plant weeds, you would be better off with docks, at least you can get rid of the bloody things

Hostas.  As the hostas grow, they cover the daffodil foliage.

Are they in shade? My Hostas usually do fine in full sun, but the drought two years ago really gave the ones in sunny positions a pasting.

My front garden has full sun all morning, then partial shade from the house in the afternoon.

Im clueless about Hostas.  Sounds like a good idea though.
Didnt know there were so many varieties.

So any advice on those would be nice.

The slugs love Hostas so you would end up with a tatty border unless you were lucky... slugs often thrive under bulb foliage...

Couldn't agree more saddad, but its an area in our garden where I wouldn't have any difficulty throwing a few slug pellets ;D
