...would this be possible? I know pak choi prefers cooler conditions and we have grown this successfully planted in Aug on the plot. We have a big BBQ in Aug and one of the dishes with like to do is sirloin steak with a marinade of soy sauce, ginger, garlic, chilli and seasame oil, served on steamed pak choi. For the numbers we are cooking for 1 need around 10-12 pak choi. I don't like the price of the ones from the supermarket or having to buy them really! LOL If we could get them to grow earlier in the summer of the plot, that would be fab!

Don't see why you shouldn't be able to get some pak choi ready for eating mid August. Maybe play safe and have them growing in a shady area, like you would lettuce in high summer. I reckon you need to allow maybe 8 weeks from sowing, wonder what others say?

Pak Choi has to be the easiest thing I've ever grown. Last year I grew it outside in situ from May onwards, I was actually eating it from the plot in January!

you can but try and if this summer is as cool as last then you'll be fine - as others have said keep it cool
