Painting raised beds

Hello there
My friend has managed to make me some beautiful rasied beds from a old chest and some pallets, but he says to protect it from the wather I need to paint it, any ideas

You can buy non toxic paint.  Not sure if that will work, but I bought non toxic paints   when I painted items for my sons nursery.  It was similar to gloss, but would not harm him or the environment.

Worth looking into though :D

i might have a look for that, my husband has wood paint that is suppossed to be non toxic so not sure what to do, surely the beds would  be ok without painting them

You'll need to use paint suitable for outdoors like Cuprinol, Sadolin, Ronseal - toxicity isn't really the issue but stopping potential rot. It's wood preservative rather than funky coloured paint??
