Builders Membrane

I have been offered some builder membrane, is this any good for putting down to kill the weeds or will it do harm to the soil

I think your find that sun light will get threw
so i would say no .but it would be very good in
helping to warn soil before planting and i would
grab it with both hands,also good for making your own
poly tunnels hope this help
