Sorry to hear that AS, have you lost much?

Jeannine

Please take a huge cyber hug from me for all of you under threat or even water itself, I broke down when I read this, surely no one has to go through this again. We are not on the watch  for this time around but I still feel for you all out there that are. Most folks here in Hull are not back in their homeseven now and our school is still closed for another 6 weeks . Reading this is just too much, for all of you who may be in the way of this latest deluge,I am thinking of you sincerely  and wish you good luck.XX Jeannine

looks like wales has ben badly hit, any updates from anywhere else?

Vony

It sad to think about but as many of us sit in our home watching T.V.   I tend to look at the walls and wonder what it would be like with two or three feet of water swilling around.

My thoughts certainly go out to these poor folk and hope they have home insurance - if they can get it?

Vony.

A couple of the villages around Hull are in danger, the water is creeping up to the door of our head teachers house(still not back in from last time) her builders have been sandbagging today, the scoop is if it continues to rain she could well be flooded XX Jeannine

oh Jeannine that's awful, lets hope it doesn't flood, it really is incredible that it could happen twice in one year.

Just seen on the news that homes and businesses have been flooded in Leeds and Huddersfield

Is everyone ok?

I believe small scale evacuations have already started in some areas, and the water is only meant to peak tomorrow.  Hopefully this will not be as bad as before and damage will be kept to a minimum.

Once the immediate danger is over I do hope the affected communities will band together and start lobbying for more effective flood defences and a commonsense approach to new building projects (which seem to be the worst affected whenever it floods).
