So some got caught and some had near misses.  We were a near miss, flooded the sub-floor but not the house......

We thought.....

ChemDry put driers in to sort out the sub-floor, got done but....

The water's jumped the DPC.  We move out next week to get the ground floor stripped out etc etc.

The moral of this is, if you think your floorboards aren't as flat as they used to be, there's a bit of mold in the gas cupboard, the doors aren't quite right, now is the time to ring your insurance company.  You have twelve months after the event to put in a claim. The loss adjuster who saw us last week said they were getting loads of new claims because of this just in Hull (where I live).

Also bear in mind that a strip out and refurb will cost anywhere from £30K to upwards of £50K.  If you have any doubts make that call.  It's a lot of money to find down the road.

Back to my packing.

Be well

Steve

Good advice. Really feel for you. My brother got flooded (Wisbech Cambs) about 20 years ago. The Insurance Co had all concrete floor put in. Hope it isn't too long before you are able to return to your hoe
