My sister has caught the gardening bug and is visiting me later this month.

So are there any restrictions on taking plants to The Netherlands (where she now lives) from the UK?

I'd like to give her some cuttings of my herb plants.

As far as I know there are no restrictions for you (non commercially) taking cuttings to your sister. There are some regulations regarding the import of plant materials but these mainly have to to with genetically modified stuff and (tropical hard) wood that has been produced in a non sustainable way and the import of plants that are protected. Bringing plants from outside the EU could be more difficult.

Hallo Aquilegia.

The DEFRA, UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has a guide concerning restrictions on import/ export of plants, produce, pests, soil etc but it is only for third countries, not the common market.
Protected plants are not allowed and you will get a fine.

I live in the Netherlands and I get nearly all my potting soil, fertiliser from UK. A few weeks ago I came back from Devon taking plants from my sisters and a few from Roosemoor garden. I also take seeds and plants to UK for years and I never got problems with it.
