How about Limerick's Ken?

I found when hosting that most people couldn't resist a Limerick and if you link with A4A maybe you could run a comp with a named veg once a month

Just a thought:)

So far it's not linked to A4A. At the moment just visit the site to comment on how and what should be covered. I'd prefer comments on that site then other visitors can discuss them.

A good place to publish what you have written is http://www.writerstoyou.com You need to join but it is free.

This could quite easily be the next step from testing your work out on other writers and 'writers'. Thanks for the link, Eric. I'll certainly have a look myself and probably add that link to this new site.

Thanks, Sinbad and if that's visitors to the site ask for, why not?

OK, it's up and partially running. If the contributors step-up in sufficient numbers to add their bit to what's presently running, it's a go.

think I've got a bit confused with all the variations mentioned in this topic but think the idea of being able to contribute something you've written (whether fiction or fact, in the form of poetry or limericks is a great idea - as they say, most of us have a story (of some sort) inside us just bursting to get out, if only we'd let it!!

I belong to another group and we've already been down the road of writing limericks (those who've wanted to do them) and also had the 'continuous story' where it's started with say 'nor more than 3 lines' and each next person who clicked onto topic, adds another 3 lines, keeping the story flowing...that can be hilarious ;D (a bit like consequences we used to do at Christmas or partytimes ::) when I was a youngster (do people still play that I wonder)

I've always wanted to write (not that I've done anything very exciting in my life) but there have been many ups & downs!.....however, the only time I have have been able to write (including some poetry) was when I've been at a really low point in my life or very sad times - when it just seems to flow!

anyway - writing things down (however trivial) is very cathartic  (I love writing lists of all sorts ):-[

so where do I find this new topic please?

hi cj - thanks so much but have already been & clicked onto that link and got in to read some of the message but.....tried to start new topic (to tell a bit about me and after putting in my user-name it just would not accept my (usual) password....tried it twice :'(

why is it it that whenever I try to do things with the darned computer - I have problems :( and  ::)

guess it's telling me not to bother (as I don't really think I could write anything worth reading) :'(

You wont be able to use your A4A registration. You will need to create a new registration by clicking on the registration link at the top of the page, but your name and psssword from A4A will be a good one to use. That way we will all recognise your name from here.

Hope this helps :D

thanks cj - will leave it till another day and maybe try again - thought as the messages I read in there had names I recognised, we just had to our existing details....maybe need go & read instructions a bit earlier in the day ???

It is a bit confusing, as the link is on this site ??? I am like you, and always have terrible trouble getting used to all things cyberspace ::)

When I first started on A4A, I couldnt get the hang of replying via PM instead of posting . I put my address out on the open forum on more than one occasion :-[ I think I've got the hang of it now, but thank goodness for Admin, who remove things like that ::)

My worst nemesis was uploading pics. I lost count of how many times all I posted were a load of jumbled letters and numbers :o

Any problems, Hot-Pot, log into the site and PM me from there.
Ken.
