Bakers Creek Seed Packets

Does anyone else find that the seed packets used by Bakers Creek are not suitable for the very small seeds of some plants? 

I have received a package this morning from them and again have found a magical mystery mix of seeds in the bottom of the envelope, and some empty seed packets, as the seeds themselves were so fine that they slipped through the open sides of the top flap of the envelopes. 

This would be the second time that I have experienced this and would be the only complaint I have about Bakers Creek.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi I have never experinced this with Baker Creek, but I do bag all my seeds in zippies when they come. Send Jere an email, he will want to be aware of this as he is very responsible and  I feel he would also want to replace them.

It is such a minor thing that I have never felt the need to mention it to them, though might just send an email so they know.  I usually separate the seeds out by type as far as I can then sow the lot and have some fun guessing what is what.  As most of the stuff I order from them are greens the mix up is not exactly a train smash as they all get used the same way.

I need to get into the habit of repackaging my seeds too - try and get some order in place.  Right now they are mostly in original packaging in a huge box.  Hardly ideal.

I but small size zippies the right size for post packets then when to packets are open I don't lose anything. I really do think thet Jere would really appreciate a note re this as he really strives to do an excellent job XX Jeannine

I had the same problem with my second seed order from Baker Creek - it looked a bit like someone had been sticking down the envelopes while watching TV - some were really quite badly skewed and had gaps at the top. I suspect it might be down to the individual packer, as my first order was absolutely fine.

I agree with Jeannine, drop Jere an email and let him know about it.

A customer on Baker Creek's own forum has mentioned seeds arriving the same way, but that might be the only other case Jere has heard about. He needs to know that a number of customers are affected so he can correct the situation. Baker Creek is very conscientious about problems like this.

it sounds like they have a bad batch of envelopes, i would still report it.

No it's not the glue, it's the angle the flaps have been sealed at.

Jeannine, I've sent an e-mail flagging it up. I've also told them about their high rating from those of us here who've done business with them - credit where it's due and all that.
