Everyone says you need two different blueberries to get a good crop. I have a bluecrop and I assume I need one that flowers at the same time but I'm having difficulty deciding which variety would flower at the same time. Help?

I would be interested in your replies as well as I have been given two blueberry plants (still in tubs as I have alkaline soil) - but no idea what type?

calendula

it isn't essential as they are self fertilising but cross pollination is supposed to help. I have 2 lots of 2 bushes (each 2 being the same variety) and they do fine

the thing is is that if you like blueberries, or love them even you will want to have more, and more, and more  ;D so whatever the reasoning behind it having more will be beneficial (except to the wallet)

Almost any will do, try Chandler which has big berries or top hat, both do well for me in the midlands and I have nearly 20 bushes.
Kindest regards

Great and thanks for the advice. It looks like I will have to put in a raised ericaceous border as I love blueberries. Yum
