Great! I got the paddling pool out today (for my daughter - not me!), and then I have been scooping the water out with my watering can this afternoon to water my wilting plants. Rain is welcome - but it is supposed to be summer!

Dreich weather on the way?
QuoteAWFUL WEATHER ON THE WAY

Pressure is set to plunge faster than Michael Howard's opinion poll ratings during the next couple of days, and by Thursday there will definitely be 'something of the night' about the weather across much of England. A deepening area of low pressure is set to bring an unusually cold, wet and windy spell of weather to southern and central parts of the UK with Scotland probably remaining brighter and showery. With possible rainfall amounts of around 50mm in places, and gale force winds, the synoptic set-up would look much more familiar during winter than the middle of summer. Towards the weekend it looks as though a ridge may bring quieter weather for a time before more rain pushes in later on. We'll bring another update on Wednesday evening, but keep checking the UK Met Office who provide regularly updated severe weather warnings.
Where's summer, then!

We had a lovely sunny morning this morning and then we had this huge climate change in the afternoon.  I was out in it, and it was torrential.  Have never been out in such heavy rain.  Got soaked to the skin and rain running like a river down the street with all the drains blocked. Having a Picnic for my Birthday at the end of the month and praying for Sunshine by then.  :) busy_lizzie
