Crossing Cabbages

I know i have posted this one before, but for them never got to see it.
I never pull my Cabbages i always cut the heads off then cut a cross in the top off the stalk to get a second crop

I have always thought that there is no need to cross the stalks because they will re-shoot without being crossed
