calendula

it largely depends on your location and the variety as many are quite hardy - if you are growing it against a shed or a wall for example this will offer some extra protection but if up a trellis then fleece should be ok, or double fleece if the winter proves to be a very cold one

Haven't had to protect mine (Regent) yet in nearly five years...

thank you very much, Calendula - i was thinking the fleece would be ok so i was heading in the right direction, Saddad - you are lucky but with my luck the thing would die  :( how many years did yours grow before it flowered ?

saddad

Only over the first winter... it flowered in it's first proper summer...
;D
