I'm thinking about buying my hubby a ferarri driving day for his birthday.

Has anyone ever given or received anything like this - any advice as to who I should or definatley shouldn't book with?

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

Hi

Only thing I would say about these Ferrari days etc is that you are usually with someone else, or another 2, and you're time is distributed. I've done one myself, and thought I was a bit of a kill joy when I left a little disappointed. Having spoke to others, there's a common theme. The only folk that seem to really like them, are those that are insanely in love with the car that they are driving.

If it's just motorsport he is generally into, I'd say a rallying day is more fun. But, for me, the ultimate is the nurburgring in Germany.

If he's into motorsport, treat him to a weekend at the Nurburgring on the Nordshliefe. You can hire cars there locally, and there's a tonne of hotels. I see your fairly near East Midlands airport, and Easyjet fly to Koln/Bonn which is about 1hr north of Nurburg. Best place I've ever stayed there is at the Altes Forsthaus (http://www.ringhaus.com/hotel_en/public/cars.php) - fellah called Frank runs it. You can even hire cars from there for a day up to a week.

Seriously it's the best thing I've 'ever' done. I've been twice now, once in a 'ahem' hired 'ahem' Porsche 911 Carrera S from Avis (www.avis.de), and this year in my car.
