tomato plant cull

I have just culled my tomato plants because of the big C i have managed to harvest a huge amount of tomatoes, though i know not all of them will survive reaching ripeness, very sad ordeal, quite heartbreaking but never mind the plants only cost me 20p each and have more then that much of tomatoes, anyway two questions

1) they were in containers, what should i wash the containers with to ensure they are clean?

2) in the off chance we should get an indian summer does anyone reckon we could still grow some if we could get hold of some small plants?

Scrub your pots out with Jeyes Fluid Debs.

I dont know if any would grow later in the summer.I have never tried.

ok cool, i do have two small plants that are about 12in high and have started fruiting so they may deliver though part of me thinks can i be bothered cheers again

trust me fork i have gone back to work for the first time in ages this week its beautifully hot, the rest of the family have gone to the beach and instead of bathing in the cool sea or lying in the sun i am busy badgering away in the garden, im sure as it cools down i will be bothered again just struggling at the mo  ;D

My sympathy-I sent 18 plants to the bonfire a week or so ago. I washed the canes and doused the soil they had been in with a solution of Armillatox.

Would plants grow in time from now?-It would be pushing the limits more than a bit but who knows? Your problem will be finding anyone with small plants -do you have any indoors or know anyone who does,if so you could try raising a side shoot or two

I manages to have one yellow tom as mine are all dying too. I really didn't want to buy any tomatoes from the shops as they have no taste at all.

i have some of my tomatoes outside and they looked terrible, all dark and weedy and everyone said they had blight, but iwasnt so sure since if i was a warmth loving plant i might be all shrivelled by now given ouR Excuse foR a summer. :(

Bu these last two weeks hey presto theyve turned green put on lots of leaf and now have fruit set on them, i think they just needed a bit of sun.  :)

Has anyone else had simular experience?
