Squash & Bigger fruits

Has anyone tried burying the vines of the pumpkins and any other vineing plants to get bigger fruits? Just read this on the net, makes sense i suppose, some of my squash seem to root along the way, more nutrients from the ground? what do you think?

That is working rosie i have tried it with some pumkins,end result was bigger ones.You can also reduce the amount of fruits,less fruits but bigger.
