Tomato plants wilting?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask your advice.

A couple of my tomato plants have wilted, gone brown and died. I thought it was blight but they died from the growing tip down, not leaves first.

I have been feeding them for a few weeks now, and a couple have fruit on them.

Anyone got any ideas on this?
I guess it could be the rain.

Mine are doing something similar - they seem to be browning around the joints of the branches and look all sad and curled. It's the first time I've grown tomatoes outside. My philosophy is very much "plant it and see if it grows", but I'd be sorry to lose the toms.

Any ideas?

As I mentioned in reply to the raspberry question, look at the roots, it could be one of several pests that eat the roots. See my outdoor cucumber:-

The eaten part was not visible until I pulled it from the soil.

I have changed my homepage for those who are interested.
