pumpkins after summer brassicas?

I currently have 2 pumpkin plants which are in large pots but need planting ASAP. The only space I can clear is where the summer cabbage, cauli and calabresse have been. Would this be ok?

Yes, plenty of manure and plenty of water in a sunny spot. They will not be huge but will be ok

Maybe Jeannine has got a diary of late planting success or failure.
