Just got in from the garden centre (about 9 miles away), had a thunderstorm there, bone dry here.  Picked up the keys to go to the lottie - and the heavens opened.

IS THERE NO JUSTICE?  WHEN WILL THIS END???????  WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!

I went to the lottie this afternoon, done some weeding, emptied another compost bin, fleeced my carrots and pulled up some onions to dry. As I was about to pack up about 3 o clock  it started to rain, halfway home it chucked it down and has been doing so ever since, saves watering later.  ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

We had to cancel out our school open day today after we got all set up, we popped into the lottie on the way home and it is still waterlogged.Still forecasting rain for a week here too.

New lottie, novice.  Netted almost everything, found out the hard way, pigeons.  Why should I fleece my carrots?

Carrot fly - makes a real mess of them

Unless you grow your carrots two feet up.  They can't (or won't) fly that high.

Then how do they get over my 6ft high x 4ft thick laurel hedge?

asbean

The carrots are too far from the hedge?
