She sounds like she is broody to me.  Does she fluff her feathers up if you go near her? Is she making little clucky noises?  Will she let you take eggs away from her- if she is sitting on any...without any fuss or does she want to give you a peck or even act indignant!?

Philbasford

she is fluffing her feathers up when i go near and makes noises, she doesntm make a lot of fuss when i remove the eggs

Philbasford

what should i do with moody(thats her name), shes the light coloured one)do i just let her sit on her nest or shut up the shed bit?

teresa

Sounds like shes broody do you want chicks or not?

OliveOil

chuck her off the nest and remove the eggs - as a hybrid she will probably give up after a few days.

Lovely chooks!

Yeah I'd go with what OliveOil says and chuck her off the nest!  I've had a couple of chooks who thought they'd might like to sit on the eggs but after me turfing them out of the nest a couple of times they soon forgot about it,especially if you offer something tasty to distract them. Mine love corn, rattling a pan of it gets the nests cleared quick as a dead quick thing!

Now the Buff Orpington hens I've got are another thing altogether. They change into ferocious turkeys when they are broody.   :o  ::)  :D
