general pumpkin questions please!

hi all, i have some pumpkin (ghostrider)  growing in big sacks, well manured, they seen to be growing great guns and look well. my question is if it is usuall for the female plants with the baby pumpkin behind to come out first i have lots of girls and no boys to pollinate them?  ::) i take it they do need pollinating? and finally how many should i leave on the plant once the fruit has set?   ::) thank you, gg x x x

All cucurbits get confused at first... eg all male or all female flowers but it soon balances up... as many as you want/need... it depends on the Pumpkin from Jack be Little to Big Max!
