I bought some early flowering Primulas (I think that is what they are)....the winter/spring bedding plants.  ???

They have done me proud and flowered for ages from Feb onwards. ;D

What do I do with them now? They are ending their flowering period, but are healthy and putting on strong leaf growth.

They are currently in long plastic planters....but with all the new growth...its getting to be a tight squeeze!

Can I keep them going for next year? What do I do with them? ???

Certainly you will be able to keep them for next year, however, if they are outgrowing the containers you have them in, you might consider moving them to larger containers, or even put them in borders. The leaves will probably die back in the autumn/winter. Mine have each year, especially the ones in containers, but the regrow in the spring.

I have some candelabra primulas which have been in the same containers for 3 years and have just flowered for the first time. These I will be moving when they are finished flowering, as I now have a new border to fill. I think the compost in the containers is spent anyhow, so would at the very least need replacing this season. There's also Queen of the Night tulips in the same containers.
Grow your own and enjoy the fruits of your labours,
Regards Alan.

I left mine in the pots they were in last year because we were having so much other work done in the garden and house so I was very pleased to see them flowering profusely again this spring having had no attention at all.  They have now expanded to fill the whole pot, squeezing out the geraniums so reckon I'll have to find another home for them this autumn.
