Hi,

I collected some seeds a couple of years ago from a beautiful dead seedhead growing in a stately home - I grew it for two years and nothing happened and then, this year, it has gone mad and thrown up these interesting flower stems - I've looked through some books but have no idea what this is - does anybody know?

Thanks for taking a look,

Trevor.

It's a type of Phlomis I think, but I couldn't tell you which one.

Palustris

If it is shrubby then it is Phlomis fruticosa, but if it is a herbaceous perennial then it is P. samia.

Thanks very much - that is great. It saves me trawling through my mother-in-law's massive A to Z of plants in the hope that I'll randomly stumble across it!
