I went past a farm recently and they had bags of manure, that they wanted to get rid off do i dig in the manure or leave it for a time b4 i use it

Depends if it is well-rotted or not. If it is then you can use it. If it is fresh(ish) then stack it for a while.

If you haven't got your runner beans out yet bury it in the trench and watch them grow!!!
