Hi All,
I hope to plant out climbing french bean plants next weekend that I have in rootrainers. I am going to sow them at the base of a chicken-wire fence and let them climb up it. I saw another plot holder do it last year with runners and it looked very well.
My question is as follows. What distance should I leave between the plants? I have not sown climbing french beans before and therefore I do not know how they will spread out.

Thanks,
Thomas

Plant mine about a foot to 18" apart usually.

I plant them about 8 inches apart growing up poles, but if they are growing up chickenwire, then they'll spread rather than wrap around.

plant mine 6'' apart but up a bike wheel frame so the in a compact space and they always do fine  ;D

I really don't think it matters... just give them the space you've got... what sort are they? I grow severla heritage varieties like Blue coco and trail of tears..

i agree the saddad, i would just space them out equally along the space you have, but i would say six inches as a minimum.

Thanks all,
I planted them out this morning at 12 inch spacing.
