Hi
Oh dear im having another disaster! thought i was doing really well... and noticed today that my cauli is not looking too healthy! it is about 2" high but going yellow and shrivelling up a bit, i potted them on last week so now in 9" pots with multi purpose compost, but don't look too good now!, My PSB and romenesco also have a tinge of yellowing... Now the only thng i can think of is that with all the rain last week they have been over watered?? Could this be it? if so what can i do if anything!

Thanks x

I'd blame the compost and change it if overwatering is unlikely.

Multi purpose compost is good for six weeks max... then things need repotting/transplanting/feeding. Young plants have to loose some leaves, it's how plants excrete!

my caulis started to go yellow / limp - I thought they were pot bound or maybe a bit hot (more likely).  They sat around once outside looking a bit ill, but now that we've had some decent rain, they have perked up a bit.  Will definitely loose around 5, but the rest look OK.

Is it the inner or outer leaves that are yellowing?

Caulis and broccolis don't like root disturbance so they might be what I call 'sulking' and are taking there time to settle in again after transplanting so as a consequence the outer leaves tend to suffer.

On closer inspection you should hopefully see nice green fresh green leaves forming at the growing tip.

Hi Tee Gee
Its the inner ones that are the worst?? i have repotted them in john innes No1 to see if that helps them?? worth a try and set some more seed going just in case! Very strange! no one at my site seems to know whats caused it either? i think its most likely the compost but who knows!

Thanks for all the replies its very much appreciated. ;D
