What to do with Mummy Sweet Potato

My supermarket Kumara Mum has produced lots of healthy slips who are now striking out alone in their new pots before planting in the Lottie. Mum is still producing babies. Can I plant Mum in the lottie or is she going to be chucked on the compost... ???
