Several of my GH tomato plants have started to develop dark purplish edges to their leaves, almost like a fine mould, with some slight yellowing to the lower leaves.  Apart from this they appear quite healthy and are now about 4-5" tall.  I am watering them on capillary matting every other day or when the matting feels slightly damp, and not from above.  My larger plants that I've transferred to black buckets seem OK.  Am I over-watering or are they doomed with some dreadful disease?  Advice needed please as this is the first time I've grown anything & I don't want to pass anything on to my healthy plants.

Don't know about the purple edges but it sounds to me as if you are overwatering them.

It sounds as though they are a bit stressed but it doesn`t sound fatal.Over watering could be the cause. If they are in pots feel the weight of the pot-then it`s like the three bears--it might feel too heavy, too light or just right-you soon get to know

Thanks for the advice.  Will hold back on the watering & see what happens.
