peas paraffin

How long do you soak peas in paraffin to deter birds and mice.  All my peas have been taken by mice or birds and I want to plant again  but do not want to waste time and seeds.  Thanks for any info..

One of the ladies on The Big Dig said she soaked them overnight??  It seemed to work for her as she also had a mouse problem.  Most of her peas came up.  I use a gutter and plant them out when they are bigger as I have a pea weevil on the lottie who has munched to his hearts delight on my mange tout and feltham first.  Just hope they are big enough to shrug it off and continue growing.
