Root Out?

Anyone used Dax Root Out? For trees, shrubs, etc. I'm going to use it on my large area of bramble roots - I won't be planting there until the autumn earliest, but probably next year, so I'm not too worried. It says it breaks down the plant into fertiliser (or breaks down itself into fertilizer? one of those vague label descriptions)

Box says it kills just the roots: "Root Out kills toatally but instead of poisoning the soil it breaks down into a nitrogenous fertiliser within 6-8 weeks." Apparently I can plant again 8-12 weeks later. From the box: "kills vertically through the soil, care must be taken with valued underplanting and surrounding plants". I'm just wondering how safe it might be on the odd bramble root amidst my bed (but not IN the beds - there are a couple on the sides or paths).

Any experiences with this one?

I have been using Deep Root on the evil Horsetail with great success.  This was originally for tree stumps - so I think they are similar.

I think using a watering can rather than a spray gives you a bit more control.

I used mine in the Autumn and when I dug the beds this spring all the HT roots were soft and DEAD ;D ;D so bramble roots should not present a problem.

Thanks. :) I have used it yesterday on the large bramble area that I won't be planting for ages anyway. Didn't go as far as I thought so didn't have to worry about having enough to put anywhere else for now. (In fact it only did half the cleared bramble area.)

So I'll carry on for now. :)
