Courgette Pollination

Hi,

    Am I right in thinking that one courgette plant will produce both male and female flowers? I've not grown one courgette on its own before and now I have some surplus plants and will give some away to friends I wonder if I need to give them more than one plant? (I'm not stingy, they don't eat many!) Many thanks  :)

Each plant has both male and female flowers, one plant will be OK

Generally I find that the insect life does all the pollination that is required.

OK these are Pumpkin but the principle is the same.

The embryo fruit behind the flower will be courgette shaped rather than round like a pumpkin.
